Data Engineer

For our Data Platform team we are looking for a Data Engineer.

What will you do

As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in our Data Platform team. The Data Platform is a new platform at Intus with many opportunities for development and improvement. You will play a key role in enabling our clients and internal organization to make data driven decisions through our state of the art EU cloud hosted data platform. You will work on:

• Building, maintaining and optimizing data pipelines tailored to the data requirements of our customers. 

• Maintain and improve the data infrastructure running in containers on Kubernetes.

• Helping other data specialists in the team develop data models and visualizations.

All this to support our growth in both Dutch and international markets! You will join a recently formed team consisting of Data specialists and a Product owner.

Technology and tools 

You will work with modern technology. We use Clickhouse, SQLMesh, Postgres and Superset as the fundaments of the platform. We always look for promising technical solutions, so we also appreciate you bringing new ideas and tools. 

• Data Engineering Fundamentals

  • Data modeling fundamentals, including dimensional modeling (star/snowflake) and medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold)

  • ETL/ELT pipeline development, orchestration, and data quality testing

  • Advanced SQL, including query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning

  • Data processing, transformation, and scripting (e.g. Python)

  • Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or similar for managing cloud resources

• Technology

  • Experience with the tech stack we use is a pro: Clickhouse (or other columnar storage technologies), SQLMesh (or dbt), Docker, SQL, Python

• Data Platform Skills

  • Data governance and security — lineage, cataloging, metadata management, authentication/authorization, encryption, and PII handling

  • Modern data warehouse architectures and data stack patterns
